Elliot is a producer, executive, and technologist serving as advisor to Olive's content strategy. As a world-renowend producer Elliot has produced several multi-platinum albums for artists including Neil Young, Janis Joplin, and Linda Ronstadt, and has managed DVD-Audio and SA-CD projects with sound recordings by Frank Sinatra, The Who, Pink, Switchfoot, and Santana. As an evangelist for preserving the sound quality of original recordings he has built, designed, owned and operated audio recording facilities in Nashville and in California.
Besides producing for the world's leading artists he has impacted audio development through his research and inventions. From the late 1976-1984 he served as a consultant to Stanford University’s Computer Center for Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA), and designed the world’s first all-digital recording studio. In 1977 Elliot co-invented “D-Zap” – a device for musicians and recording personnel that detects shock hazards. In the late 1980s, while serving as President of Artificial Intelligence Resources Inc., Elliot developed the AirCheck monitoring system, which he sold to RCS in 1989.
From 1989 to 2005 Elliot served as Senior Vice President of New Business Development for Radio Computing Services, Inc (RCS) in White Plains, New York. Elliot was responsible for the development, marketing, manufacturing, and client support of various broadcast and information technologies. During his post at RCS Elliot successfully negotiated contracts with Five Major Record Labels for an interactive Internet music service and developed the market for secure digital delivery of sound recordings to radio.
In the recent years Elliot has lent his knowledge to many different organizations as a consultant. He has had an important role in the counseling of such organizations as Warner Music Group, Elevation Partners, Gibson Guitars, Macrovision, www.blip.fm, Genaudio Inc, and Sezmi Corp. He currently serves as Co-Chairman of Left Turn Music, LLC. Elliot is a member of the Audio Board Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the British Academy of Film and Television Artists Audio Engineering Society, the National Academy Recording Arts & Sciences (former Governor), and the Country Music Association.
